If your bombs are ID=25, then this is one of the most ludicrous ways of handling out-of-RAM ever seen. In fact, they mention this in their manual, though I would personally hide in shame over something that unprofessional. I used MPII in such a configuration at home for a while, then took it into work where there are 1Meg MacPlusses, and guess what? No more bombs.
