korn@cory.Berkeley.EDU (Peter "Arrgh" Korn) (10/19/86)
After my last posting to net.micro.mac which contained what I later found out was the not quite release version of the spooler, I found I was in the top 25 list of posters for U.C. Berkeley. With net traffic as costly as it is, it doesn't seem right to post several 100K of stuff that the majority of net.mac readers can't even use. So, now that I've gotten (again...) SuperMac's permission to post their new software (spooler, backup stuff, parking stuff, etc. etc.), I'm not gonna. Those with .arpa access can get the spooler, backup software, and parking utilities from U.C. Berkeley's annonymous ftp (ucbvax.berkeley.edu), in the ~ftp/pub/mac directory. I'll also send a copy to the maintainers of the Stanford mac archive. Considering SuperMac's upgrade policy (several folks have gotten their upgrades in the mail, unsolicited; and several dealers have gotten the same), most Dataframe owners should be getting this stuff in fairly short order anyway... Peter P.S. SuperMac is scheduled to have a 4 meg upgrade out in mid. November. Does anyone know of other vendors that will upgrade a mac beyond 2 meg? I understand that there are power problems with using 256K chips, but ~$1,400 is a lot of money to shell out! Disclaimer: I have no relationship to SuperMac other than being a very satisfied customer, and a very satisfied dealer. I also have designs on one of their salespersons, but that's another story... (Hi Stacey!) ----- Peter "Arrgh" Korn I know lots of honorary jews! Why, korn@ucbvax.Berkeley.EDU some of my very best friends {decvax, dual, hplabs, sdcsvax, ulysses}!ucbvax!korn are honorary jews!
