A group of us a PHRI have recently purchased Mac+s to use at home, and also
to use as terminals at home with our Vax/UNIX system. We will also be
using one at work, which will probably be used as a terminal most of the
time. My question (probably dumb, but I've only owned the Mac for a
week :-) is this: Is there a way to change the "Option" key into an
<Esc> or Meta key while doing UNIX applications? This is especially
important when using EMACS, since, to get an <Esc> character, you have
to type "Control" "[". Since the Meta (or Escape) keystroke is fairly
frequently used when editing in EMACS, it would be useful to be able to
do this in one keystroke.
