This newsgroup is for stupid discussions, such as whether North Dakota exists. It is also for totally unrelated topics, which is a shame because I need to wade through 20-30 dull letters a day in the hopes of finding a new topic that will interest me. Well, --dmy--, you are not the only one who doesn't know what this group is for. Fred Douglis also doesn't know; the difference is, he wants to change net.misc into something it isn't, whereas you just want to know what it is for. Net.misc gets its name from an abbreviation of the word "miscellaneous". Any topic not particularly relevant to another group is put here. Often, followups will appear here as well, for as long as people remain interested in a topic. -Steve Wagar
