In my philosophy class last semester we saw several 'proofs' of the existance of God. The following one is, I believe, due to Anselm (though I could be mistaken): If God's existence is possible, then God's existence is necessary. [What this means is that if God exists in some possible world (possible), then due to the properties of God, e.g. perfection and the like, then God must exist in all possible worlds (necessary).] Certainly God's existence is possible, so God's existence is necessary.
