[net.sources.bugs] PC-More posting part 3 of 3

ken@rochester.UUCP (Ipse dixit) (12/09/85)

Has anybody got pc-more to work on a vanilla PC with monochrome
monitor? When I run pc-more the screen shows garbage (goes out of
sync) but by looking at the disk led while typing various commands I
can see that the system is still alive. Oh, yes, this is a two floppy
256k system.

On my AT with a CGA and a color monitor, I observe the same. I sent mail to
the author but am still waiting for an answer.

Here follows the mail that I directly got from the author of PC-More:

Oooops!!!! Sorry 'bout that. It seems that I designed (inadvertently) PC-More
to work only on monochrome systems, which is what I have. If you don't mind
recompiling, the fix is easy. Simply change every appearance of "crt_mode(7)"
with crt_mode(x), where x is:

	0	40 x 25 BW
	1	40 x 25 color
	2	80 x 25 bw
	3	80 x 25 color
	4	320x200 color
	5	320x200 bw
	6	640x200 bw
	7	80 x 25 monochrome card

Sorry for the problem, and thanks for the bug fix. I'll probably repost the
binary with crt_mode(2) implemented for people with color monitors.
