I have just gotten around to compiling and trying WAR on the Pyramid 90 (4.2 BSD) I work with, and it doesn't work. Since I do not have access to root privileges (I am only on operations staff, not an operator) I have changed the file to be looked for in "war.h" with the object descriptions to look in my directory to find "objects.war". WAR compiled with no errors, but when I tried to use the -e option (I have not tried using it with another person yet), it came back with the error "bad object file [table, I forget which]". What is going wrong? I have checked the path for the file several times, but it is correct. Is there something I am missing or is this a real bug? When I tried to compile war with the sysV bug fixes, it dumped core. The problem I have is somewhere in boardinit(), it dumps core on a line similar to cc->c_ur = &edge (or whatever the upper right direction ptr is called). ***** PURINA LINE EATER CHOW ***** I also do not have root privilages, but when I changed the addresses Organization: Boston University Lines: 19 of the files there didn't seem to be any problems. I would ask one of your friends to check it for you (theres always a possibility that someone will see something you have missed). I am having another problem however, The game seems to work fine in the edit mode, but when two people try to play They don't seem to be able to communicate. It sets up the socket alright (in /tmp), and acknowledges that the other person is playing, but neither one is able to make moves, or start the game, or anything else, except quit. When one person quits the other gets the message 'broken socket'.
