I had some problems with the pc larn executable and source that came over the net. 1. the source does not compile "as is" with the microsoft 4.0 compiler as the readme file advertizes. I had to add a few #includes for header files that were not included for some reason. also I had to add some "extern" statements for new variables that were added by the person why ported larn. This was not a big deal but it makes me wonder if the source I compiled was exactly the source used to make the executable that was also shipped. For example, are there any subtle coding errors as well. 2. The executable does have a bug. It has problems with the display in the DND store. It does not seems to correctly clear the screen when browsing thru the store thereby leaving a lot of junk laying around on the screen. I suppose I may try to fix this since I have the source.... 3. The executable shipped was 155,000 bytes approx. and the one I made was 180,000 bytes. I assumed that the .exe was "exepack"ed so I tryed doing so. but when I use exepack the resultant file won't execute. In fact, it crashes the machine! I was surprised exepack would screw up a file. -- Ken Dalka (Bell Labs) ihnp4!ihuxy!dalka IH 6M-419 (312) 369-7437
