[net.wanted.sources] Peak detecting software ?

Is there any peak detecting/extracting software available ?

The application is classic in biology, biochemistry, etc. where
a signal from an chromatograph (in this case, a signal correlator) is
expected to be a peak which is embedded in noise. The desired program
should detect, extract and optionally integrate the peaks in the signal.
Source form in a high level language such as C or FORTRAN is
preferred. I know that DEC offers some old routines as a part of its
LABAPS package. Are they usable ?
	Thanks.

Firstly, pardon me for posting rather than replying but out system
doesn't seem to like to reply via USENET paths.

I don't have a direct reply to your question but can point you to
another potential source in case you haven't thought of it. Peak
detection, integration, etc. such as you describe is also common in
nuclear spectroscopy so you may want to also post your query to
net.physics.
