I'm glad to hear that there's a video out by Bronski Beat. Is the entire
album, "Age of Consent" on video? Also is Canada using the VHS or VHS/PAL
format in VCR's. Eugene, you're right, MTV wouldn't touch Small Town Boy
with a ten foot pole. The only video that even hinted to homosexuality was
a video I think was by Joe Jackson, title was "Real Men". It was of course
tragic, showing the guy driving over a cliff after dropping his best girl
off (subtle hints of a closet case).
Speaking again of Bronski Beat; I love to roller skate and in my little
redneck town of Hudson, Mass we have a nice rink which plays great music;
nice mix of *Better* disco and dancable rock, no Twisted Sister played
here. I walzted up to the dj booth and asked the dj if he'd ever heard of
B.B.'s "Small Town Boy". The dj was gay (trust me) and his ears perked up
at the title. I gave him a copy I have on tape and he played it. Oh by the
way it was adult night so everyone was beyond the "Age of Consent". Well
it's a great cut to skate to as well as cry to. Well it filled the rink.
I just wonder how many of the townie folk knew what the whole song was ab-
out. When I picked my tape up the dj just said "Whew!" with one of th=ose
I know that you know that I know, etc. He told me that he was definitly
picking this one up.
Can anyone confirm this? is it true that B.B. has been around for a while
and has other albums out? A DEC E-Net pen pal in Europe claims they have 4
or five released.
