[net.wanted.sources] NYC Semi-Public PC w/Dialup Access Temporarily Kaput

dwight@timeb.UUCP (Dwight Ernest) (02/14/85)

About a month ago, I posted a notice that an IBM PC-XT that
belonged to my company was available on a part-time basis
for dialup access at 212-315-1365 (300/1200 baud). Shortly
after that posting, the response to this system became
somewhat overwhelming, but not disturbing--I was gratified
that people were using the system. (On it I had posted
several dozen programs in the public domain in source
and executable format; the system supported Kermit and
XMODEM downloads and uploads and very crude messaging.)
Unfortunately, my department was forced to make
an in-house move from one floor to another at Time. Since
that move, the system has been unavailable and will continue
to be unavailable until our internal electrical wiring people
and New York Telephone can get around to moving our outside
telephone lines, too.
When the system is once again available, I will post
to these newsgroups with details. In the meantime, please
be patient, and please don't call me via voice to ask me
about it. I will also post mail to the list of people who
were thoughtful enough to leave me their uucp pathways
during their login session.
	Regards,
