[net.misc] 6 6 6

bentonh (02/03/83)

The other day a friend mentioned in the middle of
an otherwise interesting conversation, that the number
of the beast, six hundred, three score, and six, should
be interpreted as:

     600-60-0006

(No, the IRS doesn't match up names with numbers,
even if you ask real nicely. Try your congressman.)

Count the number of letters in Ronald Wilson Reagan's first, middle
and last names...

jah (02/07/83)

btw, the day Reagan was elected the lottery number in Maryland
came up 666. Just a coincidence?

Wasn't the Maryland "666" lottery the one where fraud was declared and
several people convicted of tampering? As I recall, there was some
Eastern lottery where the balls were rigged so that only 4's and 6's
could appear, and "666" was definitely the number that came up.

The lottery with the 666 fraud was the Pennsylvania Lottery about two years
ago.

Yes, a good one (if a bit dated, by today's standards.)

But..."the original novel?" What it this? Not "Revelations"
    (New Testament)?
