[net.music] Fairport Convention - Where'd the name come from?

   Over the last couple of years I have become very interested in Richard
Thompson's music and that of his circle of friends and associates. I was
wondering if anyone knew the significance of the name "Fairport Convention".
Just a bit of trivia but there can be some interesting stories behind the
origin of band names.
