[net.music] Info wanted on "Portable Synthesizers/Keyboards"

After hearing a performance on a Yamaha Portasound this past weekend
I'm real interested in acquiring one of those new-fangled portable
keyboards/synthesizers, particularly since I've seen several in the
$200-$300 range.  I'd like any recommendations, suggestions, hints and
general advice I can get.

Naturally, if there are sufficient by-mail responses I'll collect them
and send them along to other interested parties (or post them to the net).
As always, if caught, my secretary will disavow any knowledge of my activities.
