To all that responded to my previous request for a SCSI driver in any of the UN*X variants I thank you. 1. When I sent the request I was reading rev 14 of the proposed ANSI standard. Afterwards. I got a copy of rev 17. I love them standards ! :-) It was pointed out to me that there is no standard yet (close though) across each of the chip manufacturers. I don't feel that proposed spec is any way to get 'onboard' with SCSI software. (I was hoping for more user friendly documentation, aren't we all). 2. I wanted to layout the driver in such a way as to do higher level stuff built upon lower level primitives (connect, reconnect, etc.) with the lower level stuff being more chip specific software. Who knows maybe our h/w people will do the lower level stuff with co-processors. I still plan to do this once I figure out what to do with the 19 interrupts per SCSI transaction. 3. There was a meeting last week in New Hampshire about 'system issues' and SCSI. Two of our people were there but have yet to synopsize the event. Are there other people out there who were there and could better summarize? Can we start up a mailing list on the subject ?
