Keywords: Login I am interested in obtaining a program to create a login on a different terminal for 4.2BSD. I am interested in a command, with a name like xfer, with usage xfer ttyname [shell command line] It would look for the given tty; if it already had a login, it would quit with an error. Otherwise, it would kick getty out of the way and create a login shell (using the SHELL environment variable) running on the new tty. The program should duplicate ALL of login's functions, and it should ensure that /dev/tty points to the new tty. Thanks (in advance) -- ------------- Brett Galloway {pesnta, twg, ios, qubix, turtlevax, tymix, vecpyr, certes, isi}!wjvax!brett
