[net.wanted.sources] Simulation software for acoustic engineering

tpchmara@wateng.UUCP (Thomas P. Chmara, Creative Slothfulness Inc.) (11/20/85)

Our undergraduate EE program includes in 4th year an introductory course
in electroacoustics, going from wave theory through reverberation and
absorption to transducers and speaker modelling (elementary, of course).
The prof in charge has been wondering whether there exists (either in the
public domain or otherwise, in a form that runs on DEC or IBM equipment)
any simulation software for modelling any of:
o speaker systems or the like (transducers)
o room response (absorption, reverberation, etc)
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Note that I don't normally subscribe to net.wanted.sources; if that's from
whence you're reading this, please MAIL replies. I will post a summary
if response is sufficient/even forthcoming.
	Thanks...
