wei@princeton.UUCP (P Wei) (01/30/86)
This is a summary of the information I got in reponse to my query a month ago. Sorry for the delay of this summary. There are a few people sending me mail asking what I got for the public domain EMACS or JOVE sources for IBMPC. Now here it goes : (HP Wei wei@princeton) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Micro-Emacs source was recently put on net.sources. Several postings ensued about how "public" it really was, and the poster was able to back up his claim pretty well. These discussions were on net.micro.amiga. Steve Tell alice!sgt I have a copy of Jove sources for the pc. It is written for the CI-86 compiler. I have not tried to compile them yet. I got them last year. Since then the autor has withdrawn all support for the pc. there were a few problems with it's automatic backup (not major). If you want a copy, send me a self addressed mailer **with** postage and one formatted disk. It is archived using LU. If you need LU you will probably have to sendd me two disks. Although it is not too big, I am not sure that it will fit on the same disk as Jove. I have not done anything with Jove since I downloaded it, but I think everything is all there. My snail address is: Yosef Gold 2501 Amsterdam Ave. Rm 326 New York, NY 10033 I will try to mail back anything you sen me within a day or too of recieving it, but if I am really busy it may take a week or so. Yosef Gold ...{philabs,cucard,pegasus,ihnp4,rocky2}!aecom!gold -------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any problems, I might still have sources to SCAME (an EMACS clone) lieing around. -- Skip Addison {cae780, amd, amdcad}!ubvax!skip ------------------------------------------------------------------ Return-Path: <ulowell!daigle> Organization: University of Lowell yes, i have sources for an emacs editor for the pc, unix, vms, amiga.... mail me a message if you would like them. it is in c. it compiles in microsoft c. lattice should also work. Joe Daigle (DAIGLE@ULOWELL) csnet ------------------------------------------------------------------ Jove is exactly what you are looking for. It was originally written to run on larger machines, but it has been converted to be compilable on PC versions of C compilers (CI-86, I believe). JOVE stands for Jonathan's Own Version of Emacs.
