[net.wanted.sources] 68000 Assembler in C?

wampler@unmvax.UUCP (Bruce Wampler) (07/22/86)

We are considering replacing the TI-9900 micros in our
lab (used for our Computer Organization class) with a 68000 based
machine - probably an Atari ST. We have found it most effective
to have the students edit on the University Unix machine and download
code to the micros. We have a cross assembler on the Unix system
and they down load object code.

An Atari ST is a real machine with several assemblers available.
I have not seen source in C for such an assembler. Ideally, we'd like
the source for a 68K assembler in C so they can get the syntax mistakes
out on Unix, download to the Atari (or whatever we use), and then use
the SAME assembler to assemble the executable program.

So - is there a PD 68000 assembler written in C that produces
executable code for an ST that could be ported to be a Unix
cross assembler?
