Has anyone had success in bringing up berknet under system V?

Yes. I have had berknet running on some SysV PDP-11/73s for quite a
while. I can send diffs of the distributed stuff (from 4.2BSD's "old"
directory) against what I run if you'd like. It's actually not that
tough; the primary problem is just the initial tty setup in setup.c
which needs to be converted to termio-compatible ioctl calls. (Don't
try to use sgtty-compatible calls under SysV; it kinda-sorta-almost
works but then tends to get lost very easily.) I don't keep those
PDPs in regular operation; it'll take me a little time to get it all
together. Write me some mail if you want it.

Oh, the one complete lose: I haven't had the need (and therefore too
little desire) to get berknet mail operational in conjunction with
standard /bin/mail - I needed berknet for file transfer and batch
execution. You'll have to get mail working yourself.
