Does anyone have the source code to the Lowess (Locally Weighted Scatterplot Smoother) described in: Cleveland, W.S. (1985) The Elements of Graphing Data. Monterey: Wadsworth. Evidently the original code is in FORTRAN. I'd prefer a transliteration into C, but anything is OK [no flames please, I just don't own a FORTRAN compiler]. To get FORTRAN code for lowess send mail to research!netlib with the message send lowess from go Eric Grosse's nifty program will send the code to you. Go stands for "golden oldies" and to find out what else is there you send the message send index for go Sorry, a C program is not available.
