If you invest that $8500 in a conventional fund at 10%, you'll have
$850 per year.  If you use that money on lodging for a seven-day
vacation, you can pay $121 per night.  That's more than enough for just
about any resort I can think of, and you can vary your yearly vacation
date and location without hassling with a timeshare trading concern.

Timeshare condos are the sucker deal of the early 80's.  They don't
even appreciate.
