Towards the end of the M*A*S*H farwell program I and the hordes that were present remarked on the fact that Hawkeye Pearse saluted Col. Potter just before saying good-bye. One individual stated that Hawkeye never saluted anyone to which the imediate response was that he saluted Col. Blake just as he left. From this point the discussion broke down into who has Hawkeye Pearse saluted in the whole 11 years (or however long it has been) he's been making a mockery of the US army? We came up with a total of 5 including Col.s Blake and Potter. The other two were Raidar when he left, Frank Burns when, in retaliation for several practical jokes played on Hawkeye by Frank, Hawkeye pulled up the canopy on the latrine to reveal Frank on the throne reading "Stars and Stripes" and finally when I believe it was Raidar who accidently pulled the towel off of a nurse who he was feeling sweet on causing her to run naked across the compound. You didn't actually see the naked nurse (shucks) but you did see Raidar standing dumbfounded holding the towel and Hawkeye Pearse standing at attention saluting proudly. Can anyone else out there remember any other times that Hawkeye saluted on M*A*S*H? MAB (waiting in the graphics lab at the University of Waterloo to salute any naked female nurse who may happen to run past. She doesn't even have to be a nurse, I'm not an engineer)
