27/3/87 DID YOU KNOW: 1. That a Canadian has been nominated for an Academy Award for best animated short? 2. That the film in question, Luxo Jr. by Bill Reeves and John Lasseter is only the second computer animated film ever to be nominated for an Oscar? (The first, in the early 1970's, was the Canadian film Hunger.) 3. That Luxo Jr. (along with several other state-of-the-art computer animated films) is going to have its first public showing in Toronto on April 7? If the answer to any of these questions is no, then chances are there are lots of other things that we may be able to tell you that are of interest. If you think so, then give us a call. All of this is part of Canada's largest and most important meeting of specialists in computer graphics and human-computer interaction, CHI+GI '87.
