COMPUTER FACILITY MANAGER II $38,856 - $46,980 / yr (Administrative Computing Operations Center). Directs and coordinates the operations of three complex, medium-to-large scale computing centers, together providing the whole of UCSD's central administrative computing and campus information systems processing. Responsible for planning and eventually effecting the consolidation of all these activities into one integrated Administrative Computing Center. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Proven success in the management of a medium-to-large scale administrative computing center utilizing state of the art IBM hardware and software, with a heavy data communications need; strong technical knowledge of hardware components, various types of communications devices, and computer-related equipment equipment and supplies; proficient in IBM operating systems, database management systems, and communications protocols. Proven leadership ability in managing a sizable group of computer operators, production control personnel and systems programmers. Skill in written/oral communications, and problem-solving techniques. Ability to organize, analyze, report and interpret statistical and financial information regarding computer operations.
