[net.micro.ti] Home Computer Magazine

ees@vax135.UUCP (Gene Sampieri) (07/13/84)

I received my HCM for August yesterday (7/12/84). 162 pages with about
the same number of 4A articals and reviews as the old 99er. Lots of TI
adds, probably the only place you will find them in quanity.

For those interested in cartridge software availability, order some of
the catalogsyou will find listed (TEX-COMP, TENEX, MICRO COMPUTER,
DIEHN, etc).

There is a review of a word processor in this issue with some inevitable
comparisons to TI-Writer. The processor is called Companion. Works
strictly in 40 column mode, formats output to what ever you want, up to
132.

Look for Foundations add. There is a blurb on an 80 column card to fit
in the PEB. ($249) Has any one seen anything else like that or built one.
I would like it for word processing and terminal emulation use.

Saw an add for a TE-1200 in the international users group mag. I am
sending for specs. on it and will post when I get them ($49.94 from
Softmail Inc.). Does run at 300-1200 baud. Supposed to have most of the
fetures of TE-II and then some (no speech). Has a line by line dump to
disk as its received instead of having to do screen dumps. This way
the remote source does not have to know any thing to down load a file.
