What is the collective experience with TI Maintenance? My TI 855 printer broke (flashing alert light, return for service, a useful diagnostic) So, I took it to the local TI service center. It took them aobut 1 hour to locate the problem (it was one of those intermittent things). They finally found that it was a bad ROM. The cost: Parts (rom chip) $60.00 Labor (1 1/4 hours) $75.00 Holy @#$%^&^%^! In addition, TI wants $60.00 for the new system rom (v1.25, I think), so the machine will address over 384k, like it was advertised to do when I bought it. I recently sent my card modem in for repair, I shudder to think what that will cost. (FLAME ON!) Will I buy another TI product? NO WAY, I cannot afford the maintenance and lack of support (FFO EMALF) Dave Emery Siemens Research princeton!siemens!emery

All the reviews I've read judge the hardware for the TI much higher than IBM. I, for one, am extremely satisfied with mine. I've been using mine (and my 855) daily for a year and a half with no problems (knock wood). Fred Hollander Penn State
