Greetings. A query for you all...
What would you do if you saw a genuine "alien spacecraft"?
No, I haven't seen any lately! But what if *you* did?
Let's take a "typical" (ha!) case:
You're out camping in the "middle of nowhere" (perhaps the
wilds (?) of New Jersey (or, more likely, some desert area out here
in this part of the country). It's the middle of the night. There's
nothing around you for 30 miles. At least, there *shouldn't* be. You
wake up to a strange humming sound straight out of "Invaders From Mars".
Dragging yourself out of your sleeping bag, you sleepily climb
toward the source of the sound, over a small rise.
You stand staring at what you see on the other side: an alien
spacecraft -- no two ways about it! It's very large, and is glowing
with blue-orange pulsating light. A hatch is open, and through it
you can clearly see all sorts of bizarre instrumentation. There are
"aliens" scattered around the ship. Very roughly humanoid, they
are engaged in various tasks. Some are carrying heavy objects on
a sort of "gravity platform" with no visible supports. All of the aliens
are carrying (on a sort of belt) small objects which might (or
might not) be weapons of some sort.
There is no doubt in your mind that this vehicle, and the beings
around it, are from "out there"... Now, what do *YOU* do?
(By the way, your camera was dropped and broken earlier in the day...)
Do you:
1) Come out from behind the rise and say "hi!"?
2) Keep watching to see what happens next? (Perhaps waiting
until they leave?)
3) Leave immediately?
4) Other?
Assuming you take course (2), (3), or (4), do you then:
1) Tell nobody about the incident? ("They'll think I'm crazy...")
2) Tell your close friends?
3) Tell the press?
4) Tell "the authorities"? (Police, Air Force, NASA, etc.)
5) Tell the UFO "clubs"? (Groups waiting for the UFOs to come)
6) Immediately post a message to "net.general"?
7) Other?
Responses to me, please. I'll summarize if I find the answers to
be sufficiently amusing...
