I am about to receive my 3rd US Robotics Password Modem today (No, the others didn't break, I just like them so much, I have bought 3) The Password uses a subset of the Hayes command set and is advantageous because 1)It is smaller, 2)It is more reliable (the others have been known to get flaky when they overheat) 3)The transformer is smaller. The Password does hang up on the +++ set, but that is no loss, the only commands that you would want to do at this point would be to dial another number or wait for a call. (If you want to change parity, do this on the Configure Menu) The only problem with Passwords are their demand, they are getting harder and harder to come by. My recommendation.
