Radio Shack sells a very nice thing to use if you are trying to make a modem
cable. It is called a "joystick extension cable", and consists of a
six-foot cable with nice molded DB-9's on the ends. Cut off the female
DB-9, attach a male DB-25 (also available at R.S.), and there's your cable.
I will post the colors to use if I get around to taking the hood off of my
DB-25, but a few minutes with an ohmmeter will reveal the proper conductors
to use.
