From: Robb Foster <robb@bbncca.ARPA> As an attendee a while ago at the AppleBus Developers' Seminar in glorious Cupertino, I was quite taken by the lack of intention expressed by most other attending parties as to what they were going to do with AppleBus. Since my return to the East Coast, I have heard nothing except vague rumors about AppleBus and plaintive queries which have gone unheeded. Thus, I thought that it might be time to test the waters. Soon after my return from Apple, I started playing around with the hardware and software that we had been given at the seminar. After some initial debugging of the software, I have had, for at least a month now, an operational AppleBus which is currently limited to four nodes only because of my lack of enough AppleBus hardware to link any more together. Some others and I here at BBN are in the process of developing remote servers for various purpose to run on the AppleBus, and we are having a good degree of success in our development. Is anyone else out there, either Consortium or non-Consortium, using AppleBus? Would you like to talk about it? Robb
