From: J. Eliot B. Moss <EBM@MIT-XX.ARPA> I may be undertaking some software development for the MAC and would like to hear from anyone with more info on the following questions: 1) I noticed that RMAKER is limited to about 50 resources in a resource file; is that limit imposed by the MAC, or just by this program? 2) Has anyone actually used the segment loader? What was your experience? 3) Has anyone tried installing their own interrupt handlers? Any problems? 4) Does anyone have any guesses on whether doing stuff in user mode, utilizing the user stack, will blow things up? (Assume that traps and interrupts will get you to system mode and the system stack.) 5) Is there a port of SUMACC to a SUN running 4.2 out there? 6) Is there a port of SUMACC to the LISA out there? My application is to support LARGE programs and a multi-tasking run-time environment similar to that specified for Ada (TM - AJPO), while otherwise taking advantage of the MacIntosh ROM facilities. This is not user level application hacking, but run-time support for a programming language, compiler itself to be supplied by others. Thanks in advance for your help! Eliot -------
