From: Richard Garland <OC.GARLAND%CU20B@COLUMBIA> I have found an unpleasant vibration/resonance when using the demo "A Guided Tour of Macintosh". In the "Mousing around" section there is a sound demo showing a piano keyboard. Click the key and you get the sound. However on my MAC there is a bad vibration or resonance from about F to A below middle C. Do other machines do this? Is something loose in my machine or is there some inevitable resonance to to placement of speaker, cavity size etc. (Let me know before the warantee runs out). Thanks Rg -------

From: olson@harvard.ARPA (Eric Olson) I hooked my Mac up to my stereo (this cuts out the internal speaker), and that weird buzzing is still present on some notes (this means it can't be a physical resonance in the case). I think its due to the resolution of the D-A; the "jagginess" of the sound waveforms (in an analog frame of reference; it's actually quite nice digital sound for the price). Eric.

I wouldn't worry too much about the resonance. It seems that the case when not tightened down correctly will buzz if excited by the right frequency. gLENN@sierra -------
