From: mclure@sri-prism Have any human engineering types done any research on what it does to your vision to stare at a bright bit-mapped display all day long? My old terminal, an Ambassador, was soft green and I had little worry about its biological effect on my eyes. But I begin to worry about this intensely bright Macintosh screen. Stuart

From: Rik Sprague <SPRAGUE@SU-SCORE.ARPA> I definitely like the idea of having my screen be black on white, but why must the CRT be producing so much light to do that? It gets to be hard on the eyes. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the screen be white by default, and have the electron gun cause phosphors to go dark instead? This seems like it would save a lot of energy, plus be a lot easier on your eyes. -------
