From: Hess@MIT-MULTICS.ARPA I have now played a few of the available games, and have a quick opinion to share with everyone: Millionaire: Very good. Stock market simulation is of unknown quality (I'm a market tyro) but the use of windows is very appropriate and well done (except that only 4 at a time are allowed because of their placement algorithm). A lot of fun. Alice: Very good. Excellent example of quickdraw (or similar stuff, rewritten with constraints for display speed) use. Beginners may have a little trouble with not clicking in the right spot on the board in rapid succession. But it's a lot of fun especially when you don't set Alice up as a queen but as a knight instead. Not publically available yet. Mouse Stampede: Good. One of those track-ball games that's easily transportable to the Mac. A little slow shooting at the beginning but things speed up soon enough. Uses 1 channel sound for game noises, and 4 channels only in opening screen. Frogger: It has no sound, and you really must use keyboard rather than mouse. That makes it only passable. Transylvania: Believe it or not, I haven't played the first available game for the Mac. Oh, well. Sorry. You can get Millionaire, Frogger, Transylvania, and Mouse Stampede from local dealers (supposedly) or from Mac Connection, the mail order people in Sep/Oct MacWorld ad. They actually have them in stock, they say... Brian (BNH @ MIT-Multics)
