From: zauderer%ucbcory@Berkeley (Marvin M. Zauderer) I, too, have discovered that developing software for the Mac via a Lisa development system is no piece of cake. In the middle of wading through all the documentation, discovering what EXEC files were, etc., the ridiculousness of reinventing the wheel struck me. It is true that Apple tries to provide relatively easy-to-comprehend instructions concerning program development, but invariably confusion results. My question is this: Given that a fairly large number of people have gone through this tiresome process before, is it possible that {any, one, some} of these people have committed their experiences to paper (disk?)? What I hope to find is a document consisting of hints, effective development procedures, or anything else that might help to clarify the software development process for the (naive) user. If this document (or something similar) does not yet exist, then perhaps suggestions could be sent to this list, and then a particular "issue" of info-mac could be devoted to the software development process. If I have missed it, and such information already exists (a well- written article in a Mac magazine somewhere? A report written by somebody in the Consortium?) please direct me to it; I encourage you to reply to this list, as I'm sure that there are other interested info-mac subscribers. Thanks, Marvin (Zauderer%ucbcory@Berkeley.ARPA)
