From: "David H M Spector" <SPECTOR@NYU-CMCL1.ARPA> I don't recall seeing anyone mentioning this so.... Here at NYU, we had a microsoft rep. stop by a few days ago, and when asked about Multiplan on 512K Mac, she said that " it will run, but won't take advantage of the extra memory", she mumbled something about the memory size being hardwired in.... Hmmm. This makes me wonder if they are going to charge real $$ to get the upgrade, and when/if it will ever be available. I don't have too much faith in Microsoft, as I have been waiting for MONTHS(!!) for my updrade to Multiplan V1.02 (I have 1.01), and I have gotten tired of calling. I really think microsoft ought to rethink THEIR user interface. Crufty prod- ucts and bad customer service do not for "Consumer loylty" and profits make. David -------

Apparently Multiplan isn't the only such application, but I don't know of others offhand and microsoft may not be the only such vendor. In any case, the solution is the RAM Disk, which I believe our User's Group is reselling for $20, so the list must be << $100. Rick.
