A student working for me, John Glenn, wrote several programs for use in
classes in the Math & CS Department here at Dartmouth. One program,
HandsOn, illustrates binary trees trees and related subjects. The DL
form of HandsOn is contained in the next message for people who want
a copy (I assume that the next message will not actually go out but
instead be archived in <INFO-MAC>). We don't know if the program will
help students or not, but the only way to find out is to try it. If
anyone else distributes this program to classes, please let me know
what the student's reactions were. (When I have the time, I will try
to load the other programs on to our Unix system for distribution --
all the rest are life-game like simulations for use in a course on
Markov systems (voter models and the like).)
