From: Henry.Kautz@rochester.arpa As (Lewis@harvard) noted, when printing in draft mode the mac will quite often put up the printer not responding message, and wait until the user clicks continue. This particularly happens when the printed file contains many blank and short lines. My theory is that the printer's buffer initially fills up very quickly, but empties slowly, because it takes longer to print linefeeds and returns than normal characters, and that the printer doesn't look for more input until the buffer is some percentage emptied. Meanwhile, the Mac times out and puts up the error. Is this it, Apple people?
