[fa.info-mac] New moderator/host sought

info-mac@uw-beaver (info-mac) (12/04/84)

From: Ed Pattermann <PATTERMANN@SUMEX-AIM.ARPA>
I will have to give up the moderator post of INFO-MAC at the end of
December. Hence, I am looking for a person and site to take
over the maintenance and operation of INFO-MAC.

All that is really required of the moderator is TIME and PATIENCE,
TIME to deal with the editing and resending of messages (or
digestifying if you so choose), updating of mailing lists, corresponding
with readers, etc., and PATIENCE to deal with the tremendous
number of messages, busy work, and gripes that are part of the
'job'. What you get in return is the satisfaction of doing a job
that 'someone has to do', first hand information on the Macintosh
and related HW/SW, and unexplored opportunities for greater
dissemination and organization of INFO-MAC messages and programs.
What is required of the host for INFO-MAC is ANONYMOUS Arpanet
access, and about 5K pages of disk storage.

All I really ask of the new moderator is that the list be kept for
discussions of topics relating to the serious use and development
of the Macintosh. That is why the list was started, and that is
what the majority of the readers have come to expect. If you are
interested, please drop me a note.

I have been involved with the Macintosh since November, 1983, and
it has been very rewarding for me to have a small part in the
excitement of the Macintosh, and assist in the dissemination and
sharing of information, software, and experiences. While not being
the moderator, I will continue to take part in INFO-MAC as a reader
and contributor, and wish the whole INFO-MAC community continued
success in their MACendeavors.

Thanks!
