[fa.info-mac] Imagewriter System file on every disk

I've noticed that a couple of applications that print documents will not
print unless the Imagewriter System file is located on the same disk as the
application. MacTerminal 1.1 prints an alert box every time it starts up,
forcing you to click OK before it will proceed, and Multiplan simply won't
let you print, or even do a Page Setup (the options are dimmed).

I can understand that this might be desirable on a one drive system, to
avoid excessive swapping while printing, but it doesn't make sense for two
drive systems. Is there any good reason why these applications can't look on
the system disk for the Imagewriter file? Any way to fool them?

MacWrite version 3.5 exhibits the same obnoxious behavior in refusing to print
unless launched from a disk with the system folder. Note that it also converts
your old version MacWrite files and I know of no way to go back. I worried that
I had converted a whole lot of stuff into a version of MacWrite that couldn't
print and couldn't go back! Thanks to Mick Blackwell for the fix. - Bill
