From: Caro.PA@XEROX.ARPA Hey! Wanna make a million bucks easy? Well, here's my idea, and I'll give it to you FREE! Well, maybe you could just mention my name in the documentation or something. There are three parts to the idea: 1) Find some company who would be willing to OEM a C compiler for the Mac to you (or your company). Offer them 1/4 of your profits. 2) Write C libraries for all of the low level Mac environment routines (Toolbox, Quickdraw, etc.) 3) Talk Apple into bundling your libraries with the C compiler and THEIR Mac Developer's documentation, and sell the thing for less than a Lisa/Mac development package!! Offer them 1/4 of your profits. That's the fastest way. You could get rid of one or both of the partners by 1) writing your own C compiler, and/or 2) "re-inventing" the documentation, which is not to say, copy it outright! It could use improvement anyway! The market is huge. Read the most recent MacWorld, "Vows of a Software Developer" (I think that's the name of the article). Apple doesn't give a jot about the kitchen table developer -- they can't afford to support you and me! They've left the market wide open. Hurry up! Somebody is probably doing this already, but you can get the jump on them! Don't forget to cc: me in replies because I am not on info-mac! Commodore Perry
