From: Dave Johnson <ddj%brown.csnet@csnet-relay.arpa> Since it seems the BinHex file format is catching on quickly as the mode for sharing macintosh binaries, several people have suggested that it would save time downloading them if they were converted back to binary first. In addition, converting on your typical un*x machine will go faster than on the mac. So, without further ado, here's the source for "xbin", hot off the presses. It is designed to massage a .hex file into a form that macput can easily pass to MacTerminal. There are a few rough edges, but most of the code was borrowed freely from macput and macget, and (famous last words) it works on all the files I've tried. I assume xbin.shar will be stored on sumex-aim. I'm also posting it to net.sources with this announcement going to net.micro.mac Dave Johnson ddj%brown@csnet-relay.arpa
