I have found what seems to be a bug in the control manager.
I have three windows on the screen, in back-to-front order 1 2 3.
3 is the active window, and contains 9 controls. If, while in 3,
an alert box is put up, or if window 2 is disposed of, none of the
controls in 3 will work until window 1 is selected, and then window
3 is reselected.
Additionally, if 3 is moved to overlay 1 completely (they are the same size),
then the controls work! Moving it away causes them to stop working. It appears
that the control manager is getting confused about which window's grafport
is the correct one. I've tried many things, including saving the grafport and
restoring it, shuffling windows, etc. to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions?
