Press Release: Free the ROM 64 announces the availability of MacNosy, "The Disassembler for the rest of us", on 512K Macintosh and 1 Meg Lisa systems. MacNosy is an interactive disassembler that enables MacDevelopers and MacHackers to recover source code of any Macintosh application file, ROM, or "code" type resources on the "System" file, etc. MacNosy includes features to: * Automatically subdivide a program into procedures and referenced data blocks. * Reformat data into its "natural format" via commands. * Selectively view procedures, code segments and resources by name, etc. * Direct dissassembled output to a file for inspection or assembly. * Produce reference map for procedure names, trapnames, etc. * Search a file for references to selected addresses, trapnames, strings, etc. * Play back previously recorded journal files (e.g. "scripts"). * Suspend execution until a later time. The listings generated by MacNosy contain symbols for the procedure names, data areas, trapnames, system symbols, and local labels within a procedure. MacNosy is availble for $50.00 direct from: Steve Jasic c/o Free the ROM 64 343 Trenton Way Menlo Park, CA 94025 Dealer terms and site licenses are available, contact Steve Jasik for details (415) 322-1386. Users of MacNosy should have a knowledge of programming and assembly language. -- Michael Ward, NCAR/SCD UUCP: {hplabs,nbires,brl-bmd,seismo,menlo70,stcvax}!hao!ward ARPA: hplabs!hao!ward@Berkeley BELL: 303-497-1252 USPS: POB 3000, Boulder, CO 80307
