[net.math.stat] will new versions of S fit on a PDP 11?

I have been trying to generate the executive for a recent version of S
on a PDP 11/44 running V7 (not 2.[89]bsd).  Even after stripping out almost
all the built-ins, I get a text overflow in the final load.  Anyone have any
suggestions, or am I just beating my head against a brick wall?

	I think I'd strip out ALL the internal functions; i.e. take
$M/infun.list and zero it!  Then execute $A/INTERNAL to recreate $M/ILIST.a,
which takes a while, and then reload the executive.
