[net.math.stat] "S" in xenix?

koenker@uiucuxc.Uiuc.ARPA (08/07/85)

Now that Microsoft has produced an f77 compiler for xenix,
are there any intrepid souls out there who plan to port "S"
to xenix? I've been using the compiler for about a week
doing some monte-carlo and I'm quite happy with it thus far.
There seems to be some ackwardness in linking fortran and c,
but this is now possible and hence "can 'S' be far away?"

How about intrepid souls porting S to the AT&T UNIX PC 7300, a System V by
all acounts. It would seem best compiled on a machine with large disk
capacity and then ported in binary by floppy to we poor souls with only 20
meg. I guess a device interface to GSS software would be very slick, but
that's a frill.
