All My Children - May 21

[I was out of town, so Monday's update is provided courtesy of Margo]

Tad broke it off with Dottie, saying that they just weren't right for each
other, She feels it's Hillary's fault but Tad says she had nothing to do
with it. Tad was *really* nice about it. He kept telling Dottie how nice
she was and that a lot of guys would date her, etc. etc. Dottie talked to
Midge and decided to turn Hillary off of Tad.

Meanwhile Hillary is thoroughly disgusted w/ Tad and is talking to Brooke.
Brooke tells her that Tad should be given a chance to explain.
So when Tad calls, Hillary tells him he can come over to talk. Right then,
Dottie shows up at the door to talk to Hillary.

Donna tells Tom he is playing right into Brooke's hands by drinking so much -
she said the courts would decide against him because he was drunk so much.

Ruth and Joe are really pleased with the way Tad has been lately,
studying hard, etc. Then, Edna comes over and tells them about paying
Tad to date Dottie. Tad tells them it's true, she offered the money
and he just got caught up in it. (By the way, Joe & Ruth stood up
for Tad to Edna and told her they didn't believe her). He said he's
sorry and whatever they decide to do is okay, he'll go along with
it. They tell him they have to think about it and he's supposed to
come by Joe's office at noon.

Ellen goes to Ross' for a drink and he tells her he thinks she has an
ulterior motive for wanting to be alone with him. She looks worried
(that he knows she wants to pump him for info) but he thinks she wants
to tell him she wants to quit. She assures him that isn't true and they set
a time for him to give her tennis lessons tomorrow.

Donna scolds Zach about him and Edna and he is contrite. He claims
he's not used to a woman wanting him for himself. He then tries to
apologize to Edna, saying he didn't think someone as high-class(!)
as she would be interested in him except for sex but she doesn't accept it.
