[Don't ask me how they could make $8000 - $10000 in a single night - this is TV, remember!] Father Tierney tells Brooke that he stopped by the house but Tom wouldn't answer the door. Brooke gives him her key, but won't accompany him to check on Tom. Fr. Tierney finds Tom passed out. He revives him and persuades him to go with him to a detox retreat. Devon tells Ellen about the Chandler's plans for a gambling mall. Ellen decides that she will have to pretend to go along with it in order to find out what is going on at the Chandlers that is affecting Bonnie. Later, she persuades Ross to take her to the house, but he won't show her the West Wing, although she presses him. Phoebe, Walter Hines, and Palmer are in court seeking an injunction to stop Adam from beginning construction. The judge rules that they have 48 hours to prove "irreparable damage" would be done to Pine Valley by the gambling mall. Adam considers this a triumph as he knows that 48 hrs isn't nearly enough time to prove the charge. Later, Adam, Ross, Phil, Joanna and Ellen celebrate the victory. Adam is very pleased that Ellen is backing them. At the Wallingfords, the depressed group discusses their options. Hines is going to put his law firm full time on preparing the brief, although he believes it is nearly hopeless. Brooke suggests that they get 5000 signatures on a petition and place a special referendum on the ballot of the special election to try to use the "home rule" provisions to ban gambling in Pine Valley. --> Allen <-- ihnp4!ihuxb!alle
