#N:haddock:33900003:000:3411 haddock!jimc Oct 23 18:20:00 1984 AMC, OLTL, and GH Update -- 22 October AMC: Good ole boy Billy Clyde is back in Pine Valley, and has kidnapped Adam Chandler. He is holding him for ransom for $2 million. He delivered a note over to the Chandler mansion (and was nearly caught but got away by posing as an undesirable insurance salesman). The new houselady burned the note, though, claiming it was a hoax, and she wouldn't dare disturb her poor, dear Mrs. Roy on her honeymoon. Meanwhile, Adam is certain Erica will come through on the money (he doesn't know she's away, you see). Billy Clyde and his latest bedmate are planning to leave for Ecuador as soon as possible. Yeah, right. Zach is being obnoxious, and paid a friend to pose as a transient gardener who gets "bitten by a spider" and nearly dies. As Nina goes to call Cliff to either come to help or meet them at the hospital, Zach MIRACULOUSLY, THROUGH THE POWER OF HIS MIND, cures him. An incredibly gullible Nina falls for it, and later tries to convince Cliff of the story. He, needless to say, does not buy it. Meanwhile, Liza uses this story to aid in her quest for the man she wants. She convinces Cliff that there is a story in this. They can warn people about fakes out there in the medical world. Good idea, Cliff says. She, by the way, is wearing a stunning new red jacket given to her by some company in return for her help, and she is able to give her mother some money for food. Ross told Palmer that Andrew is not his son. Palmer does not believe it, but after Ross leaves, he tracks down Cynthia and brings her to his office, where he confronts her. She denies that Ross is NOT the father. Palmer does not believe her, and she threatens to leave. He calls her bluff, and she walks out. Later, she tells Andrew that she failed, and that he should start packing. He tells her they're not finished yet... OLTL: Sam is dead, and the investigation goes on. Connie and Brad have postponed their wedding. Bo and Didi have set a date for theirs: November 23rd. Harry has asked Vicki if she could offer to help Didi, since he knows nothing about weddings. Laurel and Alex met again, and talked and talked and kissed. She decided to leave, to think things over. Cassie talked with Rob, and he sent a mother's day card to Laurel (where DID he get it this time of year?) to apologize for all those other mother's days he's missed. Not much else happened. They took a lot of time to say not much at all. GH: There is trouble over at the Weber's place! The new owner of Ginny's station (he used to be Don on Lost in Space!) knows her from "somewhere" -- and I'm willing to bet she knows where. Anyway, she avoids him and his compliments, and develops headaches when he enters the same restaurant where she and her husband and son are dining. Bobbie spoke with Jake about filing legal separation papers. He told DL, who was not too pleased. This, after he went home to find the place a pigsty and no food on the table and issued a half-ultimatum to his daughter. He advised her to find a job. "Who, me? What could I do?" little miss princess said. DL got real nasty with Jake when he told him about Bobbie's plans, and said he suspected that Jake has had the hots for Bobbie and is encouraging her. Dan advised DL to cool off and think about what he is doing and not doing, and how he can get Bobbie back. That's about it for now...
